Book nowThe benefits of Yoga practices are well established with new studies emerging all the time that further evidence the positive effects on physical, mental and emotional health and wellbeing. With science underpinning our ethos and values we work from the foundations of proven practices and bring the insights and energy of over 10 years of experience working with diverse groups, ages and abilities. Taking these well-established Yoga practices of breathwork, meditation and mindful movement into the outdoors further enhances these positive effects. In addition it provides the spacious environment required to release deeper-seated stresses, establish nature-connectedness and build team rapport in a natural and light-hearted way.
Contributing to a recent study conducted by N.U.I.Galway’s NEAR Health team, the benefits of a Hike to Yoga excursion as a Nature Based Activity (NBA) were explored.
The timely release of this evidence at a time when we are all emerging back out into our local and extended environments promotes the importance of nature based activities on human health and wellbeing. The results emphasised the need for supported and guided nature activities in a non-competitive environment. It was also evidenced that educating participants on the environment and nature-benefits improved engagement plus increased their perceived elevation in mood and wellbeing as a result of the activity.
Making Outdoor Activities Accessible
All outdoor activity providers and wellbeing facilitators have an instinctual and experiential understanding and belief of the benefits of their chosen endeavours. Participating in the research and observing the evidence emerge has revealed to us the importance of making these activities more accessible and the benefits better understood. We do this through a combination of talks and courses that prepare and educate and provide the experience of an excursion or series of outdoor events to share the benefits in real time with tools to take away and apply in their home and work life.
Encouraging Engagement
With so many tried and tested techniques to release stress and enhance staff wellbeing the challenge can simply be in encouraging employees and co-workers to engage in the activities that have known benefits. With these excursions we offer an uplifting and fun day or weekend away whilst weaving in the tools and techniques that are required to support continued wellbeing at work and at home with friends and family

Having been blessed to grow up in a small county where both highly skilled employment and diverse adventure were equally available, I often found myself wondering why more people weren’t taking advantage of all that is on offer here. Being of an adventurous spirit and having many years working relationship with both adventure and wellbeing communities in Sligo I felt it was time to bring together the best of what Sligo has to offer. I bring my own knowledge of yoga, wellbeing and individual needs-mapping and work closely with the best local adventure providers, nutritional food caterers and experts in the fields of team building, outdoor psychology and positive psychology.
Together we now provide the complete Sligo wellbeing experience, using individual expertise, the natural landscape and the great outdoors. The de-stress practices shared are also proven to calm the nervous system, reduce blood pressure, release tension and increase body mobility , regulate digestive issues and support hormone balance. Everything needed to undo the stresses of modern working life with benefits that are observed immediately with tools to sustain through the work environment.
